If you did not already know how the x games turned out I will let you know. I
took 4th place and I really can't believe it. It was mostly a game of
strategy and not a whole lot of guts. Chad Smith is the fastest guy and the
most daring down the hill. He gains a lot of speed in the turns and that is
where it is the most dangerous. But the game starts when you are going
straight down the hill. The draft was the big thing here. After the first
couple of rounds the skaters started realizing how to do it but for some of
the top guys in the field it was to late. Scott, Derek Downing, Chad Smith,
Keith, Chad Hedrick, Dante and Derek Parra were all eliminated in the first 2
rounds. Then it became a timing game from then on because of the way they
were eliminated. Some of them would just go hard from the gun and be way in
the lead but they were alone. Then a group of two or three would pass them
like they were standing still because you move faster in a group than alone.
The top four when like this:
Pat Naylor, ??? Nobody knows him ....
Jeremy Anderson, nobody knows who he is because he only races indoors. He's
fast..
Dane Lewis, you may recognize the name..
KC The man....
But anyway, I had a lot of fun and most importantly I did not get hurt. I
think that next year everyone will be wearing more aerodynamic suits because
the guy who won really was going fast at the end of the hill and he was
wearing a Spyder ski suit. His pads were also inside of the suit so he had no
drag what so ever. He won because he had the equipment. More power to him.
