June 29, 2001
Gary Castro has stepped down as Chairman of the Board of USARS. In his letter to the Board on June 15, 2001, he relinquished his position as Chairman as well as those committees he has led. The Board has accepted Gary’s wishes. He will remain on the Board and will retain his position as USOC representative as well as the Pan American Vice Presidency. Gary has through his volunteerism contributed significantly to the sport of roller skating and has pledged his continuing support to the organization. I am sure we all thank Gary for his dedication and commitment. The executive committee, in a mail ballot, has elected Charles Wahlig as Interim Chairman of the Board until the fall board meeting. It is at this annual meeting that, as per our by-laws, a new chairman will be elected. In addition to Chairman Wahlig’s appointment, the executive committee appointed the USARS President to serve on the finance committee and reduced the core committee of the SFX Project to two members Lou Marciani and Pam Gerig.
These changes reflect a changing and growing USARS. We look forward to everyone’s continued support so that we can better serve our sport.
Sincerely, |
